Video and fund campaign

Hi all! We are developing the documentary film The Women’s Arena (La Femenil) but…

What is The Women’s Arena about?

It is a film that happens in a wrestling arena that is located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The Arena Femenil Monterrey (Monterrey Female Arena) is also the headquarters of the promotion company Lucha Libre Femenil (Women’s Wrestling Promotion) known by its acronym as LLF.

The promotion company turns 18 years, in which never has programmed a single male wrestler because their functions are exclusive for professional female wrestlers. The film is about the history of the LLF and its members, inside and outside the ring. This film also investigates: How did women’s wrestling started in Mexico? Who were its precursors? And, who are its current protagonists?

We started this project in December 2017 in the show of the 17th anniversary of the LLF, we have been able to come back a couple of times but still we have not been able to advance in the way we wanted; We are independent filmmakers from Mexico City so we need to cover the trips and stays, and we have been struggling because we don’t have enough funds, and for that reason we have only been able to be just 2 or 3 days in each occasion that we have gone. If we could spend a month in Monterrey, we would be able to shoot all the material necessary to edit the documentary.

That’s why we ask for your help, to be able to go to Monterrey, finish the film and be able to see it with you in the shortest possible time.

Thank you so much!
